Global English School (GES) hosted three basketball games against Rose Marie Academy (RMA) on October 4, 2016, for grade levels 1–4, 5–6, and 7–12.
The first game started with grade levels 1–4 teams. Rose Marie Academy sputtered at the start of the game. They gave up six quick points, scored two, with only five active players and no substitute. After the first half was completed, RMA started to pick up the pace, thanks to its resilient players. Freddie, Tony, and Mark did their parts and played wonderful defense, chasing lose balls, and snatching down rebounds. JP had great game dribbling up and down the court to keep the game up tempo. Top was the monkey maker. He made six shots scoring 12 points. The final outcome of the game was GES 8 to RMA 12.
The second game was between grade levels 5–6 students. The game was tightly contested down to the last minute. Both teams played a fast paced high energy game. Sanjana and Meek were the two bucket drainers scoring most of the points for RMA. AJ played well passing the ball up court and forcing GES players to run more. Julia played her best defense in this game. She was also vital in the passing game. Katzu and Guy are newcomers but played well. Both of them were solid on defense. Unfortunately, the final score was 11-10 in favor of GES.
The last and final game was with grade levels 7–12. GES got out to an early lead and never let go. RMA players never gave up. Kanom, William, Marco, and Modem fought until the final whistle but eventually lost to GES. Even with this loss there were some positive aspects to take away. William and Kanom had some good passing lanes while Marco and Modem kept challenging shots.
