Students from Child Center classes C2/C3 and C4 went on an educational field trip to Safari World on Monday, November 24, 2014. Students had the opportunity to learn about different animals by seeing real ones. It was pleasing to listen to students share talk about their excitement about going on the trip while we were on the way. While having our snack time on the van, students went on a Safari drive to see animals including giraffes, zebras, tigers. They saw the animals in a natural environment and the kind of food they eat. Students had the opportunity to watch the Sea Lion Show and the Elephant Show. They were all excited to see the animals perform using props such as balls and paint. They saw elephants paint on a canvas and sea lions play with balls and hula hoops. It was amusing for them to see animals dance to music as well as greet people through their movements. Students also had the chance to feed the giraffes bananas with their own hands. All students had a good time throughout the day, and all had an enthusiastic attitude towards the activities in which they took part. All came back with knowledge about different animals along with some good memories and photographs. It was a fun day filled with learning and excitement.
