Child Center students visited Siam Ocean World on February 28 as a preliminary learning experience for our upcoming theme, “Life in the Ocean”. We started our trip with a bus ride from school to Siam Ocean World. After our arrival children walked together as a group to see the sea animals. They were excited to see many amazing creatures, the most popular being the sharks and stingrays. Children were amazed to see how sea animals were fed in the aquarium. Questions were asked, such as, “How come the little fish in the aquarium are not eaten by the sharks?” The answer, “Well, they are well fed two to three times a day, and that is why they leave the little fish to swim in the aquarium with them!”
The children also loved seeing other sea animals including sea horses, penguins, and seals. The trip has inspired them to draw pictures, retell stories, read books, and develop conversation with their peers.
