International Family Day, organized by the Primary and Junior High Schools, was a day of fun, enjoyment, and good cheer. It was a pleasant, clear day as parents and students gathered on November 11, at the Rose Marie Academy sports court. Major countries of the world were represented by students including Japan, China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Australia, and the United States. Students attired in their colorful costumes gave presentations to display various world customs and cultures. Parents and guests especially enjoyed watching their children perform and enthusiastically sampled the feast of international food donated by the parents. All proceeds from the sale of food will be donated towards the Low Vision Project at Rose Marie Academy.
Junior High School constructed a large scale map of the South China Sea. In a drama dialogue students each represented countries’ claims and counter claims to the disputed islands over the past several centuries.
