[:en]The Upper Primary class have been studying Ancient Egypt as their Social Studies topic. As the Egyptians did not have sugar to sweeten their food they used honey instead. The students made Egyptian cakes using honey and decorated them with caraway seeds. The flavors were new to the students and provided an unusual tasting experience.[:ja]LEAP is a support education and resource group for parents of children with special needs based in Bangkok. Rose Marie Academy was pleased to host a LEAP forum as in the Nonthaburi area, there is little or no support outside of the school situation for parents to meet, share experiences, and advocate for their child.
The short presentations from expert educationalists and a knowledgeable parent were well received and followed by a lively discussion. It was generally felt that there is a need for both parent support and teacher/parent skills sessions in Nonthaburi. Rose Marie Academy is committed to encouraging parent support as part of its inclusion policy and is happy to host future events.[:zh]LEAP is a support education and resource group for parents of children with special needs based in Bangkok. [:en]Clothes was the topic for this week at Rose Marie Academy’s Child Center Summer Program. The children were asked, “Why do we wear clothes?” and their answers were surprising -“because we are human”, “to cover our bodies”, “to keep us warm”.[:ja]LEAP is a support education and resource group for parents of children with special needs based in Bangkok. This week’s theme for the Rose Marie Academy Child Center combined class was CATS. The children brainstormed adjectives to describe pet cats and then talked about other members of the cat family. The Tiger Who Came to Tea was the favorite story of the week, and the class was able to recount the story in some detail.
On July 10, 2018, Mr. Nattapat Chaipornlertla, the father of Nano, our Child Center student, kindly shared his experiences as a chef in various countries with our Food Service staff.
Child Center Tour Guides Welcome Parents
Child Center Year End Performance was staged by our multi-talented students from C1-C4 classes. Students entertained the audience with singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments from the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carl. After the performance parents, students, and teachers had a get together to celebrate the end of a very fun, successful school year. We look forward to the next school year with both old and new faces.
