Rose Marie Academy’s 2024 Songkran Celebration Concert

R ose Marie Academy marked the 2024 Songkran festival with a vibrant concert showcasing the talents of its students in music, dance, and drama. Held on April 11th in the school hall, the event welcomed invited families and guests.
Originally conceived as a class activity for senior high students to bond and explore drama, the concert evolved into a collaborative effort involving students from primary and junior high who had been attending drama lessons weekly as a special subject since September 2023.
Rehearsals commenced in mid-January 2024, spanning three phases of intensive preparation. In the initial phase, students delved into script discussions, ensuring a clear understanding of the story and roles. The subsequent phases focused on mastering lines, stage blocking, character development, dramatizing the script, and refining performances.
The rehearsal process not only honed students’ acting skills but also fostered confidence, creativity, and communication. Life skills such as self-awareness, perseverance, and relationship management were also cultivated.
After two months of dedicated effort, students presented a series of captivating performances spanning various genres and durations in the school hall transformed into an intimate theatre space. The audience was engaged, entertained, and educated about Songkran through the art of theater.
The success of the concert was a testament to the collaborative efforts of students and staff alike, reflecting the unity and dedication of the Rose Marie Academy community.
