On Friday, December 8, 2017, Rose Marie Academy students and teachers had a great opportunity to visit and admire the beauty and significance of Pha Meru Mas (Royal Crematorium) of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Brommanathbobitra at the Ceremonial Grounds of Sanam Luang.
As we walked onto the premises of the cremation site, beautiful Thai architecture came into view as their brilliance projected over everyone. There were statues of mythical creatures that guarded the ornate buildings and the cremation site, providing students with wonderful photo opportunities.
Students also enjoyed walking through a museum within the site. This museum was truly informative as it showcased the life and spectacular achievements of the late King Rama IV. Needless to say, it was a special learning experience for our students. At the end of the wonderful tour, all received souvenirs commemorating the late king.
After what was a long but wonderful day, students returned to school hungry and ready for lunch and a time to chat with friends about their informative day, finishing the rest of a spectacular Friday. This will surely be something that will remain in the students’ memories for many years to come!
